FleetCor Technologies, now known as Corpay, and CEO Ronald Clarke agreed to pay $100 million to resolve a Federal Trade Commission administrative action over fuel-card fees.

The FTC alleged that the company promised businesses fuel savings while imposing undisclosed or unauthorized charges, including late fees in situations where customers had paid on time or were unable to pay because of company processes.

The agreement resolves the administrative case following years of litigation. The FTC said the matter affected tens of thousands of customers, many of them small businesses.
