Frederick County Executive Jessica Fitzwater announced a community-benefit agreement valued at $110 million tied to the planned Frederick Digital Campus in Adamstown.

The county says master developer Catellus agreed to reduce the amount of data-center development by nearly 20%, cut potable-water use by 80% and establish a 433-acre nature reserve, along with other developer-funded benefits.

The agreement follows extensive local debate over the infrastructure, environmental and fiscal impacts of large data-center projects. County officials opened the proposal for public review before final action.
