Frederick County's Division of Emergency Management launched a new public-education campaign called 'Make the Right Call' as part of National Preparedness Month.
The campaign focuses on helping residents distinguish between emergencies that require 911 and urgent situations that may be better handled through other services. County officials say the approach is intended to make preparedness practical for households with different resources and circumstances.
The county is also encouraging residents to register for AlertFC so emergency officials can send warnings and safety instructions directly to phones.
