Towson-based Remedi SeniorCare Holding Corporation agreed to pay more than $5.3 million to resolve federal allegations that it billed Medicare and Medicaid for prescription drugs that lacked valid prescriptions.
The Justice Department said the alleged conduct occurred from 2015 through March 2021 and involved drugs dispensed to residents of assisted-living facilities in multiple states. The settlement amount is based on the company's ability to pay and will be paid over time.
The agreement resolves civil allegations under the False Claims Act and does not, by itself, constitute a criminal conviction.
