President Donald Trump signed H.R. 5334, the Lindsay O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026, into law Friday, the White House said.
The White House described the measure as authorizing and expanding statutory sanctions, tariffs and prohibitions on Russia while extending existing sanctions on Iran.
The bill’s enrolled Senate text includes provisions directed at Russian officials, entities supporting Russia’s war effort and methods used to evade existing energy-related sanctions.
It also establishes authorities concerning duties on certain countries that continue specified purchases of Russian oil or natural gas, subject to the legislation’s conditions and procedures.
The law follows bipartisan congressional passage. The Associated Press reported that the Senate approved the measure 86-11 and the House approved it 262-159 before it reached the president.
